Jacob Moran: Frank Ocean Taught Me

Frank Ocean Taught Me

Everyone knows that boys don’t cry.
Women & sports are toys of the boys
but no one lets you in on the lie.

Stop that whining, be a tough guy
play the field, you little Playboy.
Everybody knows that boys don’t cry.

Don’t find poetry in mackerel skies,
the conception of art doesn’t matter, Cowboy.
But no one lets you know that’s a lie.

If feelings grow frothy hold those eyes dry
and mentor yourself a virile decoy.
Everyone knows that boys don’t cry.

Put down that Pinot, pour you some rye,
that’s the nip true men enjoy.
But no one lets you know that’s a lie.

To be a man, these traits employ
in order to be the real McCoy.
Everybody knows that boys don’t cry
but no one around lets you know it’s a lie.
