FALLING IN LOVE

A starburst in the sky,
confetti fluttering all along the cosmos,
falling to earth like streamers.
A strange dog walks by,
looks up at you, wags his tail,
goes on his merry way
to attend to his important business.
Beams of energy emit from the people you encounter
and you take them in, beam them back out.
The sky grows dark
and the air smells beautiful
as the rain explodes from its elsewhere
down to your right there.
The air is just the right temperature
and the grass becomes lusher, greener
right before your eyes,
emerging from the dirt and twirling in the wind.
You don’t need to sweeten your coffee anymore
and your feet dance along,
avoiding all the cracks and divots in the sidewalk.
It’s time for bed
and the kaleidoscope of starburst sky
is a bit distracting
but you manage to close your eyes,
knowing that when you dream
you will dream about the things
that may happen tomorrow
after you awake.

Review by Jared Pearce

My favorite bit here is the idea of receiving and reflecting some kind of beneficent energy.  Yeah, I think, that’s how love feels.
