Jim Fuess works with liquid acrylic paint on canvas.  Most of his paintings are abstract, but there are recognizable forms and faces in a number of the abstract paintings.  He is striving for grace and fluidity, movement and balance.  He likes color and believes that beauty can be an artistic goal. There is whimsy, fear, energy, movement, fun and dread in his abstract paintings.  A lot of his abstract paintings are anthropomorphic. The shapes seem familiar. The faces are real. J.R. Pearson played “Jonny B. Goode” in 1st grade with an audience of 15 people.  Once, I seen him eat a whole case of Elmer’s Glue. He was terrible at finger painting but he’s proud of these poems. Read his stuff in A Capella Zoo, Word Riot, Ghoti, Weave, Boxcar Review, & Tipton. His poetry was recently  included in the anthology Burning Gorgeous: Seven 21st Century Poets.

Pamela O’Shaughnessy is a thriller writer who lives in Santa Cruz, California (watch for Dreams of the Dead in July 2011, details at perrio.com). Her first book of poetry, Flying at Sea-Level, was published by Creekside Communications in 2007. Carolyn Srygley-Moore is an award-winning graduate of the Johns Hopkins University’s Writing Seminars, a Pushcart nominee and Best of the Web nominee. Her chapbook Memory Rituals: an Army of Suns is forthcoming in February. Carolyn has been published in numerous reviews to include Antioch, Electica, and the Pennsylvania Review. She is an active participant on the AIDS awareness website Real Stories. Carolyn lives in Upstate New York with her husband and daughter.

Steve Parker was born in Liverpool in 1963 but doesn’t know any Beatles by name. He now lives in Haworth and/or Lancaster depending upon who he is. He recently trained as a maritime security operative and intends shortly to fight pirates off the coast of Somalia. He is angry with the pirates for forsaking the true way of pirate poetry and resorting to clumsy lyric weaponry. He intends to larn em. He has two young boys and hopes one day to have a billygoat.

Corinne Bailey lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, two teenagers, and too many cats. Her work has been published in Contemporary American Voices, The Toronto Quarterly, Lopside Press, 48 Degrees North Sailing Magazine, Poets Against War, Poetry Super Highway and Poetry Magazine.

Iris Brossard is a poet and freelance writer living in St Cloud, MN. Her work has appeared in such publications as Antaeus, Broadway Boogie, Abraxas, The Village Voice and The Wichita Eagle, among others. She is a practicing neurologist.

Heather Brager is a mother, professional multi-tasker and life-long procrastinator. She is a lover of music, visual art and words, and is often inexplicably compelled to take a pencil in hand and arrange her perspective into poetry and drawings.
